Shelby Candian
Dance Physiotherapist

Shelby grew up dancing in Newcastle across a variety of genres. Her love of dance, health, and fitness led her to study a degree in physiotherapy, graduating from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Since graduating, Shelby has worked in private practice gaining an extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal and sport injuries. Having experienced dance related injuries herself, she understands the importance of having a health professional who understands the demands of dance.

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honors) with Honours Class I

  • The “Dancing Hip” and “Foot and Ankle in Sport and Dance” with Dr Sue Mayes (Principal Physiotherapist for The Australian Ballet)

  • Pointe Intensive Level 2 with Lisa Howell (Physiotherapist and creator of The Ballet Blog)

  • Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Level 1 with Marie Walton-Mahon

  • Dry Needling Level 1
